During this course (six lessons of 90 minutes) you'll learn some tricky grammar rules that you can immediately apply. Perfect for (advanced) B2 students who miss that rewarding feeling of making clear and quick progress.
We'll have six lessons of 90 minutes on Sunday evenings. The group will be small (max. 7). All lessons consist of:
- Discussing and practicing some tricky grammar rules
- Practicing grammar in interactive exercises or structured discussions
Before the lessons you will:
- Receive explanation of the theory
- A few grammar or writing exercises
- Sometimes a video or article that forms the base for an interactive exercise
- You can ask the teacher for feedback on your (writing) exercises
Grammar rules that we will cover:
- Relative clause with preposition
- Er + preposition in more complex sentences (using separable verbs, reflexive verbs and subordinate clauses)
- More complex auxiliary verbs with or without TE (horen, zien, weten, vallen, mogen, laten, position verbs)
- Passieve zinnen met zijn, waren, worden en werden.
- Zouden in irrealis about the past, for broken promises and rumours.
The group will be small, with a maximum of 7 students. Material will have overlap with previous Summer/Winter Course B2 (so if you subscribe again, there will be repetition).
This course is only offered twice a year.

One week before the start date you will receive a Zoom link and the instructions for the first lesson. A reminder will be sent the day the lesson takes place. When you click the link you will join a Zoom call with your teacher and fellow students.
Missing one or more lessons isn't a problem for most courses: you can continue with the course.
It's not possible to make up for the lesson in another group or future course. You will, however, receive the lesson notes. If you'd like, you can write about the topic of the missed lesson. You can send your piece of text to the teacher and receive feedback on your writing.
Just send an email to info@thedutchonlineacademy.com describing your language learning background and goals. Our teacher will think along with you and send you some example materials.
We have spent a long time considering the ideal group size for each course. In the course description, you'll find a description of the amount of participants (minimum & maximum). The groups are relatively small and rarely bigger than 5 to 7 students.
Preparation varies by course. In the course description, you will find more details. You will also receive instructions about lesson preparation in the first email, sent one to two weeks before the start of the course.
All materials are included in our courses and shared via email. The only exception is the book club. If you participate in the book club, you must purchase and read the book (for more info, look at our reading club).
With a PRO account, you'll have access to unlimited flashcards, PRO podcasts, all the Video Courses and the Wordle history. It's included in certain courses for extra learning support. In the course description you'll see how many months access are included. If you buy multiple courses with a PRO account included, the one with the longest time of access will be applied. If you already have a yearly PRO subscription, the purchase of a course including PRO access doesn't change your account.
When the access period has expired (so when the course ends), you can continue your PRO access by purchasing a PRO subscription or enrolling in a follow-up course with access to PRO.
