Designed for those who really want to practice
This course is perfect for those who have a good knowledge of the grammar rules of B1 (also useful for B2 students). It's also the perfect course for students who finished the Grammar Boost B1 course.
This course is also interesting if you are studying for an NT2 exam (speaking).

If you already participated in this course: Conversation topics will vary, but the grammar we focus on will overlap (partly) with a previous course.
Conversation X grammar:
During this course you will practice your speaking skills, we will talk about a variety of topics, but there will be an extra focus on grammar.
Each week we'll focus on a topic to talk about and on a specific grammatical theme. We won't really dive deep into the theory (that's what we do in the Grammar Boost courses), but we'll apply it.
- - 6 lessons of 75 minutes
- - Small group: max 6 students (min 3)
- - Each week we'll focus on a different grammatical topic (passive sentences, er, indirect speech, etc.)
- - An explanation of the grammar rule will be send to you before the lesson
- - A new, fun conversation topic each week (think of: sports, technology, traveling, etc.). We'll base our conversation on an article written at B1 level.
- - Direct and clear feedback
- - Learn from mistakes: study your own mistakes and successes and those of others to develop a good sense of the language
- - A lot of fun! Meet new people and study together.
We'll make use of very open topics to chat about, that at the same time match the grammatical themes. This way you can experiment with the grammar rule and immediately get feedback.
Examples of grammar rules we'll focus on:
- indirect speech
- conjunctions
- relative clause
- imperfectum and perfectum
- zou
- use of pronouns (and ER)
Length of the course: 6 lessons of 75 minutes.
Group size: 6 students max (min 4).

One week before the start date you will receive a Zoom link and the instructions for the first lesson. A reminder will be sent the day the lesson takes place. When you click the link you will join a Zoom call with your teacher and fellow students.
Missing one or more lessons isn't a problem for most courses: you can continue with the course.
It's not possible to make up for the lesson in another group or future course. You will, however, receive the lesson notes. If you'd like, you can write about the topic of the missed lesson. You can send your piece of text to the teacher and receive feedback on your writing.
Just send an email to info@thedutchonlineacademy.com describing your language learning background and goals. Our teacher will think along with you and send you some example materials.
We have spent a long time considering the ideal group size for each course. In the course description, you'll find a description of the amount of participants (minimum & maximum). The groups are relatively small and rarely bigger than 5 to 7 students.
Preparation varies by course. In the course description, you will find more details. You will also receive instructions about lesson preparation in the first email, sent one to two weeks before the start of the course.
All materials are included in our courses and shared via email. The only exception is the book club. If you participate in the book club, you must purchase and read the book (for more info, look at our reading club).

In the course description you'll see how many months access are included. If you buy multiple courses with a PRO account included, the one with the longest time of access will be applied. If you already have a yearly PRO subscription, the purchase of a course including PRO access doesn't change your account.
When the access period has expired (so when the course ends), you can continue your PRO access by purchasing a PRO subscription or enrolling in a follow-up course with access to PRO.
