Content of the course
Do you want to feel more secure about your sentences, but are you tired of books? Looking for a fun way to learn dry grammar? In this intensive course we will cover the most important grammar towards B1 level. This course will give your Dutch a serious boost.
7,5 hours of lessons in a small group, spread over 5 lessons (of 1.5 hours each).
Please note: This course originally consisted of 10 lessons (15 hours) but was split in two due to the Christmas holidays. If you wish to take the full course, also register for the second part (starting January 10). You can also follow the second part without having completed the first.
All materials are included. Before each lesson you will get homework. You will receive an explanation, exercises and answers, so you can prepare for the lesson.
This course is all about learning the rules and practicing with them. We will have fun conversations in which you will get used to certain constructions.

- Wrap your head around ZOU.
- Distinguish different types of ER.
- Learn all about the verb WORDEN and how to use passive sentences.
- The word order of adverbs (where to place words like NIET and OOK).
- Take your pronouns to the next level.
Suitable for students who are working towards B1 level (passed A2) or are already at B1 level but unsure about grammar related topics. Group size: Small groups (min. 4 - max 6) and guided by a professional teacher.
Length: 5 lessons of 90 minutes. They take place weekly, always on Sundays (10.30 - 12.00, Dutch time).

One week before the start date you will receive a Zoom link and the instructions for the first lesson. A reminder will be sent the day the lesson takes place. When you click the link you will join a Zoom call with your teacher and fellow students.
Usually, lesson material is shared per lesson instead of per course. This means that you'll receive an email with new material each week, so you can prepare for the next lesson.
During the first lesson, we'll pay attention to an introduction. It's important students get to know each other. This helps create a fun and safe environment for language learning.
Missing one or more lessons isn't a problem for most courses: you can continue with the course.
It's not possible to make up for the lesson in another group or future course. You will, however, receive the lesson notes. If you'd like, you can write about the topic of the missed lesson. You can send your piece of text to the teacher and receive feedback on your writing.
Just send an email to info@thedutchonlineacademy.com describing your language learning background and goals. Our teacher will think along with you and send you some example materials.
We have spent a long time considering the ideal group size for each course. In the course description, you'll find a description of the amount of participants (minimum & maximum). The groups are relatively small and rarely bigger than 5 to 8 students.
Preparation varies by course. In the course description, you will find more details. You will also receive instructions about lesson preparation in the first email, sent one to two weeks before the start of the course.
All materials are included in our courses and shared via email. The only exception is the book club. If you participate in the book club, you must purchase and read the book (for more info, look at our reading club).
With a PRO account, you'll have access to unlimited flashcards, PRO podcasts, all the Video Courses and the Wordle history. It's included in certain courses for extra learning support. In the course description you'll see how many months access are included. If you buy multiple courses with a PRO account included, the one with the longest time of access will be applied. If you already have a yearly PRO subscription, the purchase of a course including PRO access doesn't change your account.
When the access period has expired (so when the course ends), you can continue your PRO access by purchasing a PRO subscription or enrolling in a follow-up course with access to PRO.
