Reflexive verbs in Dutch
Some verbs in Dutch are reflexive.
Examples are:
- zich herinneren (to remember)
- Hij herinnert zich zijn jeugd.
- zich vergissen (to be mistaken)
- Ik vergis me.
- zich vervelen (to be bored)
- Je verveelt je.
- zich haasten (to hurry)
- Ik haast me.
- zich aankleden (to get dressed - this verbs is seperable)
- Wij kleden ons aan.
- zich ___ voelen (to feel - an emotion/state)
- Ik voel me goed.
As you can see, the verb is combined with a reflexive pronoun. Look at the table below for the reflexive pronoun for each person.
